5 Do’s and Don’ts for sensitive skin
Do: Use the right skin care
Always choose a product adapted to sensitive skin. The simpler the formula, the better. Opt for fragrance free and paraben-free to minimise risks of irritation. All La Roche Posay products are especially formulated for sensitive skin and dermatologically tested.
Don’t: Forget to cleanse twice a day
Choosing the right cleanser for your skin type is a must, but using it twice a day is also essential. Adopt a routine for cleansing in the morning and before going to bed to get rid of the day’s residues and makeup. Also, exfoliate regularly to banish dead cells and encourage regeneration.
A moisturiser not only hydrates and nourishes skin: it can also act as a much-needed barrier, protecting your skin from environmental aggressors such as pollution, wind etc. In addition to repairing, it also helps protect from further damage. Remember to keep hydrated from the inside too by drinking enough water!
Don’t: Skip the SPF
It’s been proven that UV exposure is responsible for 80% of visible facial aging signs¹ and if you wear SPF you’re 24% less likely to show signs of aging².
Do: Use a Vitamin C anti-oxidant on the skin
Antioxidants help delay the signs of aging by fighting free radicals, or damaged cells in the body, including skin cells. Omega 3 and fatty acids (olive oil and fish oil) supplements also help.
La Roche-Posay would recommend…
Apply SPF daily
Regardless of the weather, apply SPF daily. The higher the SPF, the better. Anthelios Ultralight Fluid SPF50+ is a great ally, protecting from sun-induced pigment spots that make skin appear ‘older’.
Consultant Dermatologist for La Roche-Posay Dr Hiva Fassihi approves: “It’s the best anti-ageing cream you’ll ever use.”
