What’s the story?

At La Roche-Posay we understand that your skin has complex needs and adult acne and ageing are two of the big ones. In fact, in UK and Ireland 40% of females claim to have acne, and even more still experience breakouts, blackheads and blemishes. So, we created Effaclar Serum - our first product of its kind to contain three acids: LHA, AHA and salicylic acid alongside niacinamide.

What does it do?

Effaclar Serum targets a range of skin concerns. It is enriched with salycilic acid, LHA and glycolic acid and helps to unclog pores, smooth the skin’s surface and improve skin renewal overnight. In short, it will help to improve your overall skin texture while simultaneously targeting blackheads, blemishes, and marks. This serum will help reduce the signs of ageing and is also suitable for use on acne prone skin.

How will it fit into your routine?

The Effaclar Serum is most effective if used as part of a dedicated skincare routine with products that complement the ingredients within it. Start with a gentle cleanser that also helps to clear the pores such as La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar Gel Wash. This will create the perfect clean base for your serum. Once your skin is patted dry, apply a few drops of Effaclar Serum to your palm before patting across the cheeks, grazing the forehead and the nose and chin. End your routine with a lightweight oil-free moisturiser such as La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar Duo+ SPF.

NB: It’s really important that you incorporate sunscreen into your routine when using Effaclar Serum as it contains three types of acids that make the skin more susceptible to sun damage.
