Try Hyaluronic Acid
Use oil based products
Choose the right makeup for dry skin thanks to makeup artist Tahira top tips.
What are your top tips for dry skin sufferers?
Before choosing your skincare, make sure you have the right skincare routine for dry skin. For Tahira, “When it comes to dry skin, I recommend exfoliating regularly so that the richer skincare, serums and moisturisers can penetrate more efficiently.”
Adopt Hyaluronic Acid
She adds, “Skincare with hyaluronic acid is particularly effective and richer face oils. La Roche-Posay do a fantastic Hyaluronic Serum called Hyalu B5”.
Which makeup is best for dry skin?
Use oil-based foundation
“Try richer foundation with an oil base for dry skin, which may work better in the winter and be sure to go for a shade close to your skin tone and if you want to warm that up,” she advises. Tahira also recommends you “opt for a bronzer rather than choosing a darker foundation.”
Try BB cream
Another option? La Roche-Posay’s Toleriane Teint Foundation which has a light tint and works as a beauty balm for sensitive skin, moisturising and soothing, as well as acting as a UV barrier thanks to SPF 20 protection – just make sure to top up regularly to obtain protection all day long.
Another insider top tip?
A fresh facial routine
“You can also mist your face during the day to refresh the makeup and use a hydrating mask weekly to keep skin hydrated,” says Tahira. Try La Roche-Posay’s Thermal Spring water mist for its refreshing sensation and soothing qualities. Rich in silicates and selenium, it’s helpful with eczema flare-ups as well as dry skin, and even better if complemented by La Roche-Posay’s Hydraphase Intense Masque, a velvety fresh moisturising mask that rehydrates intensely and restores suppleness to the skin.
