There are things you can change in your day-to-day life that may make a great difference in the appearance of your skin. Here are a few tips that are worth adopting to improve your skin health over time.
Skincare in the sun
If you have oily skin and you're going on holiday or out in the sun then I would recommend choosing a sun cream which is specifically formulated for your skin type and won't clog your pores.
Pollution and skincare
Pollution can't always be avoided, but isn't necessarily the problem when it comes to blocked pores. It is more often than not the humidity of the environment that's the cause. Some people will sweat more in the heat which can lead to blocking the pores. This is why if you go to the gym or have just exercised, I think it's important to clean your face and body straight after to avoid sweat reaching and blocking the pores.
Make up for blemish-prone skin
Make up is best treated like skincare - being patient in finding what works best for you is key. It's a bit like buying clothes; you choose what suits you. What works for one person doesn't always work for the next. It sounds obvious but if your skin is oily, look for oil-free products. And if your skin is dry, try something that's slightly oily, but not too oily. I recommend you always choose non-comedogenic foundation.Removing your makeup is just as important and I recommend you use oil-free products. It's also a good idea to consider your makeup brush hygiene. Washing your brushes once a week can help avoid the build-up of any bacteria. Equally, men and women should make an effort to keep any shaving instruments clean to help protect against further build up in bacteria.
